Román Valencia will take office as municipal president of Santa María Colotepec on January 1, 2026, but the engineer has already begun working proactively to turn into reality — with immediacy and efficiency — the proposals and projects he presented to citizens during his campaign, which earned him broad voter support in the October 12 election under the Internal Normative Systems.<(p>
For this reason, Valencia undertook an express working tour in Mexico City on Tuesday, October 21, where he fulfilled an intense agenda that included an important meeting with Pascaline León, Head of the Department of Health, Well-being, Tourism, and Art of Living.
The meeting with the representative of the French Embassy in Mexico included an exchange of ideas and the exploration of areas of opportunity aimed at building alliances to foster the development of Santa María Colotepec and to showcase its attractions beyond national borders.
It was a productive meeting in which they also explored synergies on key topics that Román Valencia identified during his campaign visits to agencies and neighborhoods across the municipality over the course of just one month. The discussion also addressed potential collaborations in education, economy, gastronomy, and tourism, among other fields.

Under the leadership of the president-elect, efforts are being made to lay the foundations for strengthening ties with the French community in Mexico and to invite those who have yet to discover Santa María Colotepec and its unmatched attractions — such as its famous beaches — always with the goal of improving the quality of life of its citizens.
Following this meeting, Román Valencia plans to hold additional sessions with various national and international sectors, as part of his commitment to place the municipality and its people in the national and international spotlight — attracting investment, generating employment opportunities, and improving public services that have a direct, positive impact on residents’ daily lives.
