Personnel from the **National Guard** are conducting proximity and security patrols in the **Monte Albán archaeological zone in Oaxaca**, as part of the Government of Mexico’s National Security Strategy.

> “With the goal of maintaining public order and strengthening ties with citizens, members of this public security force maintain a presence in the corridors of this pre-Hispanic city, located in the municipality of San Pedro Ixtlahuaca, Oaxaca”.

**The National Guard** reported that its members carry out guidance and assistance tasks **for both national and foreign tourists**, providing recommendations on the care and preservation of Mexico’s historical heritage.

Personnel also engage in community outreach activities with visitors and staff of the **Site Museum** to learn about their security needs.
